The Offset Two Guitar Tuning Uncrossedand Ascending 5ths/Ascending 4ths Uncrossed
On my Grand Stick I use what I call an "offset two guitar tuning." What that means is that there are two sets of guitar gauge strings on both sides tuned in ascending fourths. I also use an Ascending 5ths tuning with a Ascending 4ths melody side uncrossed. I uncross my hands when I play because I find it easier to do for long playing sessions. Thus, in a relatively short time I've been able to play many tunes with a minimum of mental difficulty understanding the tuning. I've been playing for about a year now and truly enjoy playing solo because you can improvise, play melody and chords and enjoy the tunes alone. |
